Vincent Van Gogh’s paintings never sold during his lifetime. Although Vincent’s works were purchased from him by his brother Theo, who owned an art gallery in Paris, Theo was unable to sell any of the paintings in turn. Only after Vincent’s death did his works ever sell, and Theo’s widow was the first to be able to profit when Vincent’s work was “discovered.”
Recently, the street photographs of a recently deceased nanny were discovered. The amazing talent of this unregarded nanny-by-day has some calling her “one of the greatest street photographers of the 20th Century,” and here photographs have caused quite the stir in the art world. The story of her discovery is amazing and should be an inspiration to any artist or creative.
